The ÖTILLÖ Swimrun world series has announced another event for 2021 in Gothenburg, Sweden on Aug. 7. Gothenburg is the latest addition to swimrun event series that now boasts 11 events across multiple continents. Describing the new race site, ÖTILLÖ says:

“The Southern Archipelago of Styrsö, Vrångö, Donsö, Brännö and Köpstadsö is a mere 15 minutes from the mainland and part of the City of Gothenburg. It has a history since the stone age and a geography that is spectacular. Beautiful granite islands, small, year-round hamlets and a vibrant summer community.

“We are extremely happy and proud to be able to showcase one of the most beautiful parts of the city of Gothenburg,” said race director Mats Skott. “The islands in this southern archipelago are nothing but spectacular and we cannot wait to show them off.”

The event will look to replace the popular Öloppet event which took place from 2012-2019 and will lean on support from previous race directors to ensure the new event is a hit.
