PTO supports Outlaw Half Holkham – Lucy Charles-Barclay highlights field

The Professional Triathletes Organisation (PTO) has stepped up again to support another race in the United Kingdom this summer – this time it’s the Outlaw Half Holkham, part of the Outlaw Triathlon Series which will take place on July 4.

The PTO will put up the £12,000 prize purse for the event, along with media and marketing support for the event. A number of top-ranked professionals have already committed to the event, which could help them earn qualifying points for Team Europe for the upcoming Collins Cup. Highlighting the list is long-distance champion Lucy Charles-Barclay and three-time Olympian Helen Jenkins. Included in the men’s field are Adam Bowden and Thomas Davis.

“It’s amazing the support the PTO are giving to races which are much more local to professional athletes wherever they are based,” says Charles-Barclay. “This massively reduces the travel risk and gives me the opportunity to race in the UK in front of a home crowd which I always love, especially with such a strong British field. The fact that races like Holkham are supported by the PTO and professionals can fight for world ranking points in the run up to the Collins Cup is perfect and I think you will see some amazing racing on a very special race day.”

The Outlaw Half Holkham race takes place on the historic grounds of the Holkham Estate. The swim and run take place around Holkham Hall, while the one-loop bike course takes in the beautiful countryside and coastal of Norfolk.
