Norway’s Lotte Miller knew what she had to do after crossing the finish line in 24th place: encourage Belgium’s Claire Michel, who turned out to be the last finisher of the women’s individual Olympic race due to an injury that she sustained during the race. It was a beautiful moment between two triathletes, who know exactly what their colleague was going through.

Only 34 out of 54 athletes who started the race managed to cross the finish line, making Michel the 34th and last athlete to complete the race. The Belgian, who also raced in the Mixed Relay event, finishing sixth, dropped on the ground right after her finish. Miller didn’t hesitate for a second to come over and console her, saying: “You’re a f*** fighter. This is Olympic spirit, and you’ve got it 100 percent.”
