After a brilliant runner-up finish to Lionel Sanders at the Ironman 70.3 North American Championship in St. George, followed by a big win at Ironman Couer d’Alene, American Sam Long returns to racing this weekend at Ironman 70.3 Boulder. Fellow American Skye Moench is the highest ranked woman in the women’s race, but can expect some fierce competition from Great Britain’s Emma Pallant-Browne.

The race this weekend will be shown live on Ironman’s Facebook Watch channel.

You can see a full list of the pros scheduled to race this weekend here.

Long will have to pull out all the stops to earn the win on Sunday as he faces Australia’s Sam Appleton, countrymen Justin Metzler and Andy Potts, along with Xterra world champion Bradley Weiss.

The women’s race promises to be very close with a number of evenly matched potential podium finishers – Moench and Pallant-Browne will take on Canada’s PTO 2020 Championship winner Paula Findlay, Americans Chelsea Sodaro, Lesley Smiith and Jocelyn Mccauley, along with South Africa’s Jeanni Metzler. One interesting name on the start list is American Olympian Taylor Knibb, who won WTCS Yokohama earlier this year and was part of the American team that took the silver-medal in the mixed team relay.
