We knew it was coming based on the initial announcement of the PTO Tour, but now we have a few more details about the third and final race in the PTO Tour in 2022 – the PTO US Open. The season will kick off with the PTO Canadian Open in July, then we’ll see the return of the Collins Cup to Slovakia in August, followed by the PTO US Open on Sept. 17 and 18. Next year we’ll see two more races added to the tour, the PTO Asian Open and the PTO European Open.

Like the Canadian event, the race in Irving, Texas (just outside of Dallas) will see the pros race over a 100 km distance (2 km swim, 80 km bike, 18 km run) for a US$1 million prize purse. As with all the PTO events so far, there will be extensive TV and video coverage of the race. There will be two age group races over 100 km and 25 km, with relay options.

The race takes place at Levy Event Plaza on Lake Carolyn, a 10-minute drive from Dallas/ Fort Worth International Airport. American Collins Cup team members Sam Long and Taylor Knibb have committed to the event and will be part of a press conference for the race being held tomorrow.

You can find more information about the race here.
