The Championship – Challenge Family’s flagship event – has opted to move this year’s swim out of the Danube River. Athletes will now swim in an adjacent canal, as the water is much calmer there.

That canal was first used during the Collins Cup last year and now Challenge Family is choosing to take The Championship out of the Danube as well. It seems a wise choice: the Danube has a strong current and often relatively cold water. At least for athletes, this choice makes the swim part more manageable. In addition, athletes do not have to run as far for T1.

The Championship will take place the weekend of May 20-21 in Samorin, Slovakia.
