The differences were small – even smaller in the men’s race than in the women’s – and the races thus exciting: Connor Bentley and Selina Klamt have just won the Europe Triathlon Cup Caorle.

The race in Italy covered 750 meters of swimming, 20 kilometers of cycling and 5 kilometers of running, and in the men’s race it was the British Connor Bentley who did it fastest with a finishing time of 50:19 minutes. He did not have much of a margin, as two seconds later it was his compatriot Ben Dijkstra who finished second. Another second later, Frenchman Valentin Morlec was third. The top three men finished within three seconds of each other.

In the women’s race, the differences were just a little bigger, although the race there too was only decided in the closing stages. Germany’s Klamt crossed the finish line in a time of 57:29 minutes, seven seconds ahead of Britain’s Sian Rainsley. Spain’s Cecilia Santamaria Surroca finished ten seconds after the winner, placing third.
