While the PTO struggled to fill the women’s field at their first T100 race in Miami, this is even more the case in Singapore. Only eight contracted women will start next month, so the remaining twelf spots will be filled by women racing with a wildcard. Can we still talk about a ‘Battle of Champions’?
If it were up to the PTO, yes, judging by a press release just sent out containing the full lineup (women) for the PTO T100 in Singapore, which takes place on April 13. In Miami, however, it turned out that many women could not cope with the level at the front of the race and the dropout rate was very high.
While there are very strong women on the starting line in Singapore – including some of the very best in the world – there are at least as many missing. Below is the complete list of women racing the PTO T100 Singapore:
