The Europe Triathlon Cup Melilla may not have gotten that much attention because of other big races this weekend, but Emma Lombardi and Cameron Main claimed nice wins in Spain.

French Lombardi won the Sprint Distance race in a time of 54:39, beating, among others, the two British ladies Kate Waugh (54:55) and Sophie Coldwell (55:27) who finished second and third, respectively. For Lombardi at least, the victory is a fine boost towards the Olympics to be held in her home country this year.

In the men’s race, a Brit did take victory: Cameron Main won the race in 50:39, staying ahead of, among others, France’s Antoine Duval, who finished second in 50:46. Spaniard Vicente Hernandez finished third in 50:48.
