The addition of a brand-new World Triathlon Cup event in the middle of the season brought athletes to Saidia, Morocco, for an exciting debut. While the start lists may not have featured the strongest fields of the season, the racing certainly didn’t disappoint.
In the women’s race, it was Russia’s Diana Isakova who surged to the top step of the podium. On the men’s side, Great Britain’s Oliver Conway powered his way to victory.
Both races came down to the wire, with the podium places decided by just a handful of seconds – highlighting the competitive spirit on display despite the relatively new setting.
