It’s the kind of statistic every sport dreams of: following this year’s Challenge Roth, all 65 doping tests carried out came back negative. The iconic German race announced the results on its social channels, underscoring a strong commitment to clean competition.
At first glance, 65 tests may not sound like much – especially when compared to the roughly 6,000 athletes who line up in Roth each year. But in reality, it represents more testing than ever before in the race’s history. Even more importantly, the spotlight on anti-doping measures began well ahead of race day, with organizers investing additional attention and resources into education and prevention.
The testing pool included both professional athletes and Age Group competitors, with all procedures conducted by the independent NADA Germany. For Race Director Felix Walchshöfer, the results speak volumes: “This is a strong signal for a clean sport.”
