As athletes turn the page on the festive season and set their sights on a new year of training, Zwift is once again rolling out its biggest annual community event. The Tour de Zwift is back for 2026, bringing six weeks of structured motivation, virtual exploration and mass participation to cyclists and runners around the world.
Running from January 5 to February 22, 2026, the Tour de Zwift is designed to support New Year’s resolutions and early-season fitness goals, making it a natural fit for triathletes building winter consistency. The tour spans six stages, each lasting one week, with a dedicated make-up week from February 16–22 to allow athletes to catch up on missed rides or runs.
Participants will travel across nine virtual worlds, from the roads of Makuri Islands and Watopia to iconic cityscapes such as London, New York and Paris. Each stage features its own theme, adding variety and atmosphere while encouraging repeat participation.
As in previous editions, Zwifters can tailor the experience to their training needs. Cyclists can choose between long, standard or short distances for every stage, with the option to ride socially or race competitively. Runners are equally catered for, with 5km events scheduled throughout the week and 10km long runs available at weekends—an appealing option for triathletes looking to maintain run frequency during the winter months.
For 2026, Zwift has added an extra layer of challenge for the most committed athletes. The newly introduced Ultimate Challenge requires participants to complete all three distances – short, standard and long – across all six stages. Those who manage the full sweep will be rewarded with a 12,500 XP bonus and an exclusive in-game Afterparty Cap, a visible badge of honour within the Zwift world.
There’s also a tangible incentive beyond the screen. Every athlete who completes the Ultimate Challenge will be entered into a prize draw to win a one-of-a-kind Tour de Zwift x Pedal Mafia Zwift Ride Smart Frame. In addition, Zwift and Pedal Mafia have teamed up once again to release a limited-edition Tour de Zwift kit, available globally via the Pedal Mafia website.
