Who Were the Top Earners of 2025?

The sport of triathlon continues to grow, and with organisations such as the PTO, Ironman, Challenge Family and Supertri, substantial prize money was paid out over the past year. Several athletes earned hundreds of thousands in prize money alone – and that’s without factoring in start fees, sponsorship deals or other sources of income.

All of this makes it a good moment to take stock: which athletes accumulated the most prize money during the 2025 season?

One clear conclusion stands out. Long-distance racing is financially far more attractive than short-course racing. Athletes who were successful within the PTO, Ironman or Challenge Family circuits appear far more frequently in the top ten highest earners than those competing primarily on the WTCS and/or World Triathlon Cup circuit.

Below, you’ll find the top ten male and female athletes based solely on prize money earned during the 2025 season.
