Emma Pallant-Browne is set to make her return to professional triathlon, just months after giving birth to her son, Lochlan. The British athlete plans to race again on March 8, marking her first official competition since welcoming her child.
Although she hasn’t revealed which event she will enter, options include the Ironman 70.3 races in Uruguay and Brazil, or the Middle Distance ‘Hell of the West’ in Queensland, Australia. The Australian race appears especially likely, with another major event scheduled in the region just two weeks later – a wildcard entry could allow Pallant-Browne to compete back-to-back.
Staying Race-Ready
Even during her maternity leave, Pallant-Browne hasn’t stayed away from competition entirely. She has participated in several 10K runs in her South African hometown and joined a mixed-team Hyrox event alongside her partner, Jaryd Browne. Remarkably, she even ran races in the late stages of her pregnancy, demonstrating her long-standing dedication to the sport.
Pallant-Browne is among several athletes making a post-maternity return this year. German triathlete Daniela Bleymehl also aims to return to competition after giving birth to her daughter, Emilia, targeting the Ironman South Africa in April.
