Sam Long leads Challenge Family World Bonus, four women tops the rankings

Sam Long leads the Challenge Family World Bonus so far.

Of course the rankings don’t say much at this early moment in the season, but still it’s always interesting to keep an eye on the Challenge Family World Bonus. In the men’s rankings, Sam Long is in the lead, while four women with the same number of points currently dominate the women’s ranking.

Challenge Family’s World Bonus provides professional athletes with the opportunity to race for a share of a US$125,000 end-of-season bonus as well as a prize purse at the races. The World Bonus starts with the first Challenge Family / Clash event in 2022 and ends with the last race taking place in 2022. So far, Challenge Shepparton, Clash Miami, Challenge Puerto Varas and OTSO Challenge Salou have taken place. The US$125k bonus pays five deep across both men and women with the top ranked pros taking home $25k, second will earn $16.5k and third will win $12k, fourth $6k and fifth $3k.

Sam Long leads the way with 500 points after winning both Clash Miami and Challenge Puerto Varas. Tim van Berkel (Challenge Shepparton champion) and Kristian Hogenhaug (Challenge Salou champion) follow in shared second place with 250 points. Behind them we find Roberto Sanchez Mantecon, Fraser Walsh, Matt Hanson and Jason West.

At the women’s Challenge Family World Bonus rankings there are four leaders, all with 250 points: Fenella Langridge, Amelia Watkinson, Haley Chura and Ashleigh Gentle. Els Visser, Laura Siddall, Lotte Wilms and Pamella Oliveira are close behind.
