What to expect from the Norwegians tomorrow at the WTCS Bermuda?

Last weekend they were still racing the World Ironman 70.3 Championships – Blummenfelt won there while Iden appeared not to have recovered sufficiently from his world title at Kona and fell out emotionally during the run – but tomorrow they will race again at the WTCS Bermuda. What can we expect from the two Norwegians?

Of course, we can’t see into the future and predictions are always tricky. One thing is certain; Iden already had a tough time in St. George and already indicated before that race that he was not sure if he had recovered enough from Kona, and suffered a mental setback when he dropped out of the race. Logically, he will take that setback with him to Bermuda, which is not easy when you have to recharge for a race at the very highest level once again.

Blummenfelt, on the other hand, will start with full confidence; he was of an otherworldly level last weekend and won the Ironman 70.3 World Championship with a huge show of power. At the same time, Blummenfelt also raced at Kona as well as St. George last month, and those two races will have brought the necessary fatigue with them.

In addition, the competition will be killing in Bermuda: Jelle Geens, Alex Yee, Vasco Vilaca, VIncent Luis, Jonas Schomburg and Mario Mola will start, just to name a few world-class athletes. In that respect, we are getting ready for a spectacular race for sure.

In the women’s race, home favorite Flora Duffy seems the biggest contender, but she will have to deal with Beth Potter, Taylor Spivey, Laura Lindemann, Sophie Coldwell, Taylor Knibb and Kirsten Kasper, among others. As with the men’s race, we can expect fireworks here as well.
