In late 2021, two men robbed cyclist Mark Cavendish and his wife Peta and now both robbers are going to jail for a long time: one man is going behind bars for 15 years and the other one is sentenced for 12 years.
Both robbers forced their way into Cavendish’s home in a winter night of 2021, threatened to stab the cyclist with a knife and eventually made off with expensive items, including two Richard Mille watches worth a total of more than $850,000. A third suspect, incidentally, was acquitted.
In his ruling, the judge spoke of a “seriously planned robbery, not committed by opportunistic amateurs”.
