Alex Yee will not lack confidence anyway, but today he undoubtedly gave his confidence another extra boost by winning the Europe Triathlon Cup Kitzbühel. One of the last tests towards the Olympic Games in Paris was thus successfully concluded.

Yesterday the qualifying rounds already took place in Kitzbühel – something the British top athlete had no problems with – but today it was really all about the finals: participants swam 500 meters, cycled 11.2 kilometers and ran 3 kilometers. Yee did so in a time of 31:55 minutes, staying ahead of Italian Euan De Nigro, among others, who finished second after 32:06 minutes. Australian Brayden Mercer finished third in 32:15.

In the women’s race, German Tanja Neubert won, crossing the finish line after 35:23 minutes. She remained exactly ten seconds ahead of Switzerland’s Rebecca Beti, who finished second after 35:33. Adding to the German celebration was Anabel Knoll, who finished third in 35:34.
