Jonas Deichmann has already made global headlines with his extraordinary endurance feats, and starting this April, the German adventurer aims to add a new chapter to his story. Deichmann will embark on a cycling journey around Europe: 24,000 kilometers, 250,000 meters of elevation gain, through 27 countries – all within 135 days.
“This time it’s not about the fastest route, but about the small roads, mountains, and off-road paths,” says the endurance junkie, who plans to tackle the journey on a gravel bike. Simple math shows that Deichmann will need to average just under 180 kilometers per day to complete the challenge.
Previously, Deichmann completed a “Triathlon Around the World,” covering the equivalent of 120 Long Distance races across 18 countries over 429 days. In 2024, he completed 120 Long Distance Triathlons in as many days – every single day on the Challenge Roth course.
“After those 120 Challenges and exploring what’s physically and mentally possible, it was always clear to me that my next project had to be a classic adventure again. Europe has so much to offer. I’m looking forward to four months full of experiences on the bike and in the tent.”
