Canadian triathlon star Lionel Sanders may not be the best swimmer compared to his peers, but that doesn’t change the fact that he is doing everything he can to improve. At home he covers hundreds of miles in his endless pool, paying particular attention to his technique.
“Every day I get into the water I have to fight my natural desire to be violent with it,” he said in a recent social media post. “Be gentle with the water and the water will be gentle with you…at least that’s what they tell me.”
Last year Sanders had a good year. Despite there being only a few triathlon races, he won several Zwift races, broke the Canadian hour record and finished fourth at the PTO 2020 Championships at Challenge Daytona.
