What started with a lot of rain and quite some wind, turned into a sunny finish. Challenge Almere-Amsterdam 2022 was a big success and with the European Championships Long Distance being hosted in this Dutch town there were some important medals at stake. The prettiest of them all – gold – was won by Britain’s Kieran Lindars in the men’s race and Germany’s Katharina Wolff in the women’s race. In the men’s race, it were Dutch Niek Heldoorn and America’s Andrew Starykowicz who took second and third, while that honor was for Germany’s Lina-Kristin Schink and Sweden’s Jenny Nae in the women’s race.
