Good news from Singapore, as a last-minute decision was made to have a full swim in the PTO T100. Yesterday it seemed that the swim would be shortened by at least half the distance due to the water temperature of 31.5 degrees, but the heavy rainfall of the past 24 hours has ensured that the water has cooled down somewhat just in time.
At the same time, the race – the women start this morning (April 13) and the men tomorrow morning (April 14) – promises to face leaden conditions. People along the course speak of almost unprecedented high temperatures and similarly high humidity. Only luck is that at the time of writing there are lots of clouds, because if the sun breaks through, the conditions would be almost ‘unbearable’.
