French Athletes Dominate World Triathlon Cross Triathlon Championships in Pontevedra

The French contingent made a powerful statement at the World Triathlon Cross Triathlon Championships in Pontevedra, with Alizée Paties and Félix Forissier clinching the titles in impressive fashion. As part of the World Triathlon Multisport Championships, this off-road race featured a 1000-meter swim, nearly 29 kilometers of mountain biking, and a challenging 7.6-kilometer trail run.

In the women’s race, Alizée Paties delivered a commanding performance to take gold in 2:14:10. Spain’s Marina Muñoz Hernando claimed silver with a time of 2:16:06, while Chile’s Bárbara Riveros secured bronze in 2:16:42. Paties’ dominant effort left no doubt about her supremacy on the day, further solidifying her status as a force in cross triathlon.

The men’s competition proved to be a much tighter affair. Félix Forissier edged out his compatriot Arthur Serrières in a thrilling sprint finish, winning in 1:55:00 – just two seconds ahead. Spain’s Kevin Tarek Viñuela González rounded out the podium with a time of 1:56:31.
