The 2025 World Championships Cross Duathlon, held as part of the World Championships Multisport in Pontevedra, delivered thrilling performances – and clear victories – as Belgium’s Thibaut de Smet and Switzerland’s Anna Zehnder claimed world titles with commanding leads.

In the men’s race, it was a Belgian show of strength. De Smet completed the 5.8 km run, 23.2 km mountain bike, and 3.2 km run course in 1:32:50, pulling away from the field and never looking back. Fellow Belgian Sebastien Carabin secured silver with a time of 1:34:30, while France’s Arthur Forissier rounded out the podium in 1:35:30.

The women’s race was equally decisive. Anna Zehnder crossed the finish line in 1:49:58, comfortably ahead of Italy’s Noemi Bogiatto, who took second in 1:51:26. A large gap followed before Australia’s Laura Gillard claimed bronze in 1:57:08.
