Fresh Start for Former BMC Team: Bianchi Becomes Title Sponsor, Finn Große-Freese Joins Squad

Finn Grosse-Freese takes the day at Ironman Klagenfurt

A new era begins for the team formerly known as BMC Pro Triathlon. Starting in 2026, the squad will compete under the name Bianchi Pro Triathlon Team, welcoming Finn Große-Freese as one of its standout athletes.

After a successful 13-year partnership, BMC and the professional triathlon team have decided to part ways ahead of the upcoming season. The team now embarks on a fresh chapter with Bianchi as both title sponsor and primary equipment provider.

The collaboration with BMC began in 2013, initially as a bike partner for the Belgian Uplace Pro Triathlon Team. When the team expanded internationally in 2014, the partnership grew into a highly successful era. Over 13 seasons, the team amassed more than 150 wins and over 300 podium finishes. Highlights include Chelsea Sodaro’s 2022 Ironman World Championship, Kristian Høgenhaug (2021, Almere) and Antonio Benito López (2025) claiming Long Distance World Triathlon titles, Miguel Hidalgo’s 2025 WTCS silver medal, and a bronze medal in the Mixed Relay at the Paris Olympics with Samuel Dickinson. Additionally, the team celebrated victories at major events such as Challenge Roth and Ironman races in Frankfurt, Nice, Texas, Melbourne, Zürich, and Lanzarote.

New Identity, New Focus, Proven Excellence
From 2026 onward, the team will operate under its new identity, emphasizing a shared vision with Bianchi centered on innovation, performance, and sporting excellence. The historic Bianchi name now symbolizes not just tradition, but also ambitious forward-looking goals.

The 2026 roster highlights Finn Große-Freese, who has emerged as one of Germany’s leading triathletes after victories at Ironman Klagenfurt and Ironman Copenhagen in the past year.

Joining him are newcomers Daisy Davies (GBR) and Cameron Main (GBR). The squad is further strengthened by Miguel Hidalgo (BRA), Antonio Benito López (ESP), and Laura Madsen (DEN).

At the same time, the team bids farewell to Thor Bendix Madsen, Clément Mignon, Samuel Dickinson, and Lucy Byram. Team director Bob De Wolf praised their contributions, noting that each had played a pivotal role in the team’s successes over the years, leaving a lasting mark both on and off the race course.
