Canyon has officially unveiled a bold new chapter in off-road racing with the launch of the Canyon x DT Swiss All-Terrain Racing Team – a multidisciplinary squad designed to reflect the rapidly evolving landscape of modern endurance sport.

Developed in close partnership with DT Swiss, the new team signals a clear strategic direction: embrace the blurring boundaries between gravel, mountain biking, cyclocross and ultra-endurance racing. Rather than building a roster confined to a single discipline, Canyon has assembled a diverse group of thirteen athletes from five nations, each bringing a unique performance background to what the team has fittingly nicknamed ‘The Wildcards’.

The timing of the announcement coincided with the opening round of the UCI Gravel World Series in Girona – long regarded as a European hotspot for endurance athletes and triathletes alike. The race weekend marked the team’s competitive debut, offering an immediate showcase of its all-terrain philosophy in action.

A Discipline-Free Approach to Modern Racing

Canyon describes the project as a reflection of how racing looks in 2026: fluid, fast-changing, and increasingly interconnected. Today’s elite off-road athletes are no longer defined by a single specialty. Gravel riders compete in ultra-distance events, cyclocross racers line up at mountain bike World Cups, and endurance specialists cross over into multi-day bikepacking competitions.

The Wildcards embody that shift.

From explosive cyclocross efforts to the attritional demands of ultra-racing, the team’s structure allows riders to move across formats without restriction. It is a deliberate rejection of siloed development pathways – and an acknowledgment that versatility is quickly becoming one of the sport’s most valuable assets.

Global Line-Up

The 13-rider roster includes:

  • Alex McCormack (Great Britain)
  • Bradyn Lange (USA)
  • Caro Schiff (Germany)
  • Frederik Raßmann (Germany)
  • Jade Treffeisen (Germany)
  • Jasper Ockeloen (Netherlands)
  • Jordan Schleck (Uganda)
  • Juri Hollmann (Germany)
  • Larissa Hartog (Netherlands)
  • Luca Dreßler (Germany)
  • Marei Moldenhauer (Germany)
  • Mathijs Loman (Netherlands)
  • Nele Laing (Germany)

The breadth of nationalities and racing backgrounds underlines the team’s international ambitions and its intention to compete across the full spectrum of off-road formats.

Equipment Built for Versatility

Given the team’s multi-discipline calendar, riders will compete aboard various Canyon platforms tailored to specific race demands. All bikes are equipped with top-tier components, including Shimano DURA-ACE, XTR, GRX and Di2 groupsets.

Backing the project is an extensive network of performance-focused partners, including Shimano, Coros, Schwalbe, Ryzon, Abus, Ergon, Dynamic, Topeak, Maurten, H2O Audio, BOA and Sunlight.
