“30 days to go to my first World Championship on the full distance in St. George.” Pieter Heemeryck is counting down the days, but will also be very nervous leading up to the Ironman World Championships in St. George. The Belgian top athlete, who had a rock-solid season especially two years ago but has had many disappointments since, could very well use a solid result.
Last weekend, Heemeryck didn’t make it to the finish line of Challenge Salou but now he is still staying in Spain and enjoying the nice weather. “For the moment enjoying some time in good weather. After having a Covid infection in February I’m not yet there where I hoped to be. Struggled from feeling back hundred procent healthy to feeling shit the other day.
Still one dream and that is chasing Kona, so I will do everything the coming weeks to keep the dream alive.”
