Athletes who will be at the start of Ironman Alaska in two weeks will probably not sleep peacefully in the coming period; it is highly uncertain whether they will succeed in getting their bikes to the race location on time. For this, Alaska Airlines is warning, indicating that it will probably not be able to transport the bikes in time.
An email sent by the airliner to athletes also shows that it is calling on them to find other options to transport their bikes. Multiple athletes have already expressed that there are very few options available and the ones that are available are incredibly expensive. Several athletes have therefore already cancelled their Ironman Alaska participation. According to Alaska Airlines, Ironman has not offered any solution so far.
