We are – almost certainly – not going to see Vincent Luis racing at the Paris Olympics. After competing in the Olympics three times before, the French star is missing the Olympics in his own country. He was told this by a phone call from the national federation, which resulted in a more than emotional post.
“I want to wish good luck to the 110 athletes racing at the Paris Olympics. This race can change your life, but for 104 of you nothing will change. I’ve raced the Olympics three times before and was looking forward to give it one more push on home soil. My name is Vincent Luis and it seems that my federation doesn’t need me anymore.”
