Captured in images: World Triathlon Championship Series Yokohama

We got to enjoy some tough racing again this weekend during the World Triathlon Championship Series and the World Triathlon Para Series in Yokohama. In the men’s race it was Norway’s Kristian Blummenfelt who showed to be in top-notch form by outrunning all his competitors. The only two men able to hang in long enough to reach the podium were Belgium’s Jelle Geens and America’s Morgan Pearson. While in the men’s race nearly all the athletes ended up in one huge pack on the bike, in the women’s race America’s Taylor Knibb and the Dutchwoman Maya Kingma managed to create a gap while in the saddle. The only athlete able to close the gap on the run was America’s Summer Rappaport, who eventually took second behind eventual winner Knibb. Kingma completed the podium.
