Sam Laidlow deletes controversial post

Ironman World Champion Sam Laidlow caused quite a stir when he published a post on social media late last week, attacking the Von Berg family, as well as several triathletes, and indicating he was done with their allegations of doping. However, he has now deleted that post because he “wants to move on”.

It is a remarkable move by the Frenchman, as last week he thus fully opened the attack on Rodolphe von Berg Sr, as well as his son (and pro athlete) Rudy von Berg. In addition, athletes such as Marjolaine Pierre and Daniel Baekkegard were on the line.

Rodolphe von Berg Sr. then couldn’t resist responding, indicating that Sam Laidlow had no right to reveal private conversations – emails in which Von Berg Sr. did indeed accuse the World Champion of doping – and that the triathlon world is better off without Laidlow’s “disdain and hate’.

Now, however, Laidlow is making a remarkable move; he has taken his post, which was much talked about, offline for the following reason:
