Supertri has introduced a new Athlete Advisory Group (AAG). This is comprised of elite triathletes who will provide the short-course event organiser with guidance on key issues affecting the sport and its athletes.
The AAG will support Supertri in promoting triathlon, identifying areas for innovation, and exploring growth opportunities within the sport. The group will also offer feedback to Supertri’s executive team on ways to elevate the professional triathlon ecosystem and support elite athletes’ careers.
The founding members of the AAG are:
- Jonny Brownlee, 3x Olympic medallist
- Chase McQueen, Supertri E 2024 World Champion
- Jeanne Lehair, 2x Supertri League event winner
- Vasco Vilaça, Supertri Toulouse 2024 winner
- Barbara De Koning, emerging Dutch triathlete
An additional female athlete will be confirmed soon.
Chase McQueen, AAG member, said “I am really delighted to have this opportunity to help establish an Athlete Advisory Group at Supertri.
“Supertri has been great for athletes and provided us with incredible opportunities. This is our chance to give back and make our racing even better, ensuring that future athletes are in an even better position, while also contributing to growing the sport we all love.”
Adam Leitch, Supertri Communications Director and AAG chair, said “Supertri’s family atmosphere has always been key to our success.
“We are united in our passion to grow triathlon, from providing a premier stage for elite athletes to inspiring more people to engage with the sport. The AAG is a long-held ambition, and I am excited about the positive impact it will have in the years ahead.”
