Patrick Lange “came, saw and conquered” at Ironman Tulsa last weekend. The two-time Ironman world champion from Germany was in the lead group during the bike and put his stamp on the race during the marathon. After the finish Lange was clearly emotional and dedicated the victory to his deceased mother. On social media he was clear afterwards. “Back to that winning feeling. Tulsa, you had it all. Thanks!”
In the women’s race, it was Daniela Ryf who crossed the line first. The Swiss dominated on the bike to take a lead of more than a quarter of an hour, and was initially able to run comfortably. However, in the closing stages of the run she had to work hard and lost a lot of time, but her victory was never in danger. “Happy to take the win at Ironman Tulsa leaving it all out there. After a solid swim and bike, the run was a good reminder how tough Ironman racing is. The support on the run course definitely helped me to make it to the finish. Thank you!”
