Athletes will cross the EURO2012 soccer stadium.

On June 20th, 2021, the brand new Challenge Gdansk triathlon will take place with an expected field of 1,750 athletes, marking Challenge Family’s return to Poland.

“Poland is a beautiful country and Gdansk is a city as beautiful as it is special,” says Challenge Family CEO Jort Vlam. “This race venue is suitable for athletes from all over Europe, but certainly also for athletes from outside Europe. On June 20th we are going to have a spectacular and unforgettable race here.”

Challenge Gdansk will take place next to the Baltic Sea and includes a spectacular finish on the city pier.

“I’m very proud and happy that, after almost three years of working, we can announce our new race and now we can invite all athletes to race in this beautiful city,” says Race Director Adam Greczylo.

The new event will feature a middle-distance race with a capacity of thousand athletes, along with a sprint-distance race of up to 750 athletes.

“For us it’s important to have a race that suits most types of athletes. Athletes who focus on the longer distances can go all out on the Middle Distance, while athletes who focus more on the shorter distances can push themselves to their limits during the Sprint Distance,” Greczylo continues.

Athletes will start their race from a beach at the Baltic Sea. The bike course consists of three flat and fasts laps where athletes pass, among other things, the Energa Stadion – which was used during the EURO2012 soccer tournament – and the famous tunnel under the Vistula river. The run course takes athletes along the beautiful Gdansk beach, with a spectacular finish at the Gdansk Prior Pier.
