Two triathletes competing in the Ironman 70.3 World Championship were hit by a 68-year-old Farr West City resident, who drove onto the course in her SUV and under the influence of marijuana. The driver was driving a large SUV, ignored traffic controllers at the scene, was arrested after the collision and taken to the police station but by paying a $10,000 bail she is now walking free again, pending her trial. The two triathletes are hospitalized with severe injuries.

The 68-year-old driver admitted to drive under the influence of marijuana. Without paying attention, she turned onto the bike course with her SUV, causing two triathletes to run full speed into the car. In the process, not only did the athletes suffer massive damage, but also the car was heavily damaged.

One of the athletes who was injured is American Mark Aaron Evans. Among the injuries he suffered were a broken nose, two fractures to the neck and chest, and four broken ribs.
