The past few days have seen a number of questions raised around the upcoming Summer Olympics set to begin in less than six months. After some questions on the event happening and The Times reporting the event would not go on, the state of the Olympics was cemented by the IOC in a statement:
In a video from Swimming World Magazine IOC President Thomas Bach addresses some of the strategies the Olympics will need to take in order go on. among them are social distancing, limiting spectators and vaccinations. There is a lot for the IOC and National federations to sort through in the coming months as thousands of athletes and staff prepare to arrive in Tokyo, and hope athletes will be able to safely compete on the worlds biggest stage.
