It was a busy weekend of racing in Lisbon with the World Triathlon World Cup men’s race taking place on Saturday and the women’s race on Sunday. Also, the Belgian “hammers” earned themselves a Tokyo spot with a strong win in the Mixed Relay Event on Friday. In the men’s race it was Norway’s Kristian Blummenfelt who, again, proved he is in great shape and took the win. Switzerland’s Nicola Spirig had to work hard on the bike and run yesterday for her win; she only caught Ireland’s Carolyn Hayes in the final stretch of the run.
